ASCO 2021 | Novel therapeutic approaches in glioblastoma: CAR-T therapy & BBB modulation

Yasmeen Rauf, MD, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, discusses areas of excitement in the field of glioblastoma, highlighting immunotherapy as a major area of interest for the coming years. Dr Rauf talks on two ongoing clinical trials looking at novel therapeutic approaches: the use of CAR T-cell therapy and opening the blood-brain barrier (BBB) using focused ultrasound to improve the efficacy of chemotherapies with poor central nervous system penetration.
