EBCC 2024 | Barriers to implementing exercise programs in patients with cancer

Despite evidence of the benefits of exercise in cancer survivors, there are multiple barriers that survivors face, most of which are related to the lack of resources. Ana Joaquim, MD, PhD, European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer, Brussels, Belgium, comments on strategies to make physical exercise more accessible. Increased communication with clinicians, physiotherapists, and personal trainers will enable increased access to relevant training programs for patients, and establishing partnerships with gyms will additionally have a positive effect. This interview took place at the 14th European Breast Cancer Conference (EBCC) in Milan, Italy.
