EBCC 2024 | MAMA_MOVE Gaia After Treatment: introducing exercise in cancer survivors

Ana Joaquim, MD, PhD, European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer, Brussels, Belgium, discusses findings from the MAMA_MOVE Gaia After Treatment trial (NCT04024280), which assessed the benefits of exercise in survivors of breast cancer. Participants initially were in a 16-week control phase followed by a 16-week intervention phase consisting of aerobic and resistance training. The primary endpoint of global health status did not decline in participants, and other secondary endpoints such as health-related quality of life and cardiometabolic biomarkers are currently undergoing analysis. This interview took place at the 14th European Breast Cancer Conference (EBCC) in Milan, Italy.
