ASCO 2026 | Barriers to integrating ctDNA-guided treatment into standard of care pathways in colon cancer

Gunnar Folprecht, MD, PhD, Technical University Dresden, Dresden, Germany, discusses barriers to integrating circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) testing into standard of care chemotherapy decision making. Prof. Folprecht highlights that the ctDNA test used in the CIRCULATE trial (NCT04089631) may be outdated, however newer, more sensitive tests bring additional cost issues. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
