SITC 2021 | Importance of profiling the cell surface of solid tumors

Crystal Mackall, MD, Stanford University, Stanford, CA, discusses a gap in solid tumor research. Many liquid tumor cell surfaces have been extensively profiled, which provides a range of new targets for novel therapeutics. Prof. Mackall suggests that solid tumor research has not focused as much on cell surface profiling, and a greater focus on this area could be beneficial to solid tumor research. This interview took place during the 36th Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
