Guilherme Nader-Marta, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Center, Boston, MA, discusses the effect of pregnancy status on Oncotype DX Breast Recurrence Score® (RS) and long-term outcomes in young women with early-stage, ER-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer (BC). Data from the Young Women’s Breast Cancer Study show that postpartum patients had higher RS compared, but after adjusting for stage and RS, prior pregnancy was not linked to worse long-term outcomes in women with node-negative or 1-3 node-positive breast cancer. These findings suggest that worse prognosis may be associated with higher genomic risk rather than pregnancy status. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
