AACR 2024 | SJPedPanel: a pan-cancer gene panel for childhood cancers

Pandurang Kolekar, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, discusses the creation of SJPedPanel, a dedicated gene panel tailored specifically for childhood malignancies, addressing the significant differences in driver gene landscapes between pediatric and adult cancers. Results demonstrate high coverage of reported alterations, even in specimens with low tumor content, enhancing cancer monitoring and early detection capabilities for pediatric patients in a time and cost effective manner. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2024 in San Diego, CA.
