IASLC TTLC 2024 | Initial chemotherapy options for advanced and metastatic NUT carcinoma

Jia Luo, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, comments on the best course of chemotherapy for NUT carcinoma, which commonly is diagnosed in the form of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). For patients with a squamous cell-like histology, platinum-based chemotherapy with paclitaxel or etoposide is used, whereas for patients with a sarcoma-like histology, ifosfamide-based chemotherapy is used. However, platinum-based chemotherapy is found to be overwhelmingly more beneficial, especially in the metastatic setting. This interview took place at 2024 Targeted Therapies of Lung Cancer Meeting (TTLC 2024) in Santa Monica, CA.
