With the rise of trials assessing targeted therapies, especially in lung cancer, earlier endpoints are being measured, leading to more frequent biomarker testing in patients. Amanda Herrmann, MD, University of California San Diego, La Jolla, CA, highlights the need to reduce time toxicity patients experience in lung cancer clinical trials. Whilst simply receiving treatment in the clinic or in a clinical trial requires a time commitment, clinicians need to take into account the needs of patients when designing clinical trials. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
