Andre Ilbawi, MD, of the World Health Organization (WHO), outlines the three pillars of the new global breast cancer initiative launched by WHO. This initiative aims to provide an essential packet of breast cancer care services to women in low- and middle-income countries with the hope of reducing global breast cancer mortality by 2-3%. Dr Ilbawi urges communities to join and collaborate in order to be better prepared to respond to this emerging public health crisis. This interview took place during the 17th St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Conference.
