Icro Meattini, MD, University of Florence, Florence, Italy, discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted clinical practice in radiation therapy. Recent advances in radiation therapy have enabled clinicians to adapt to the pandemic, with trials such as FAST-Forward reporting useful data on how to improve radiation therapy schedules. Dr Meattini proposes that the pandemic has improved the speed of integration of precision medicine in radiation therapy.
