AACR 2025 | Genomic Insights from KEYNOTE trials in late-stage gastric cancer

Yelena Janjigian, MD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, describes an exploratory genomic analysis of late-stage gastric cancer using data from KEYNOTE-059, KEYNOTE-061, and KEYNOTE-062 (NCT02335411, NCT02370498, NCT02494583). The study compared molecular subtype prevalence and genomic characteristics with existing early-stage data from The Cancer Genome Atlas. Findings revealed differences in the frequency of MSI-H and genomically stable subtypes, with high tumor mutational burden and homologous recombination deficiency observed in specific subtypes. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2025 in Chicago, IL.
