Elaine Vickers, BSc (Hons), PhD, Science Communicated Ltd, discusses immunotherapy and targeted treatments for cancer, and how they fit within the precision medicine paradigm. Dr. Vickers explains that whilst with targeted treatments it can be fairly straightforward to treat patients by testing for a specific mutation and treating a patient accordingly – with immunotherapy, there are more challenges with achieving a vision of precision medicine. This interview took place at the BOPA 2021 virtual meeting.
