WCLC 2024 | Increasing awareness of lung cancer in young people

Filiz Oezkan, MD, West German Cancer Center, Essen, Germany, gives an overview of strategies to improve outcomes in younger adults with lung cancer. Clinicians should encourage people to stop smoking or even to not take up smoking in the first place, especially in countries such as Germany, where smoking is still prevalent. Since people may consult other healthcare professionals such as pulmonologists, additional awareness across other specialities will also benefit younger people. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
