Jonathan Nowak, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses the challenges of obtaining specimens for tumor agnostic approaches in colorectal cancer, highlighting the need for matched tumor tissue and normal tissue, as well as plasma samples, to enable sensitive testing. Dr Nowak emphasizes the importance of actionable information that can inform treatment decisions, such as the use of NSAIDs or celecoxib, and notes that more evidence is needed to demonstrate the predictive value of ctDNA positivity in altering treatment suggestions. This interview took place at the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
