ESMO 2025 | Elucidating the role of novel ADCs such as TUB-040 in ovarian cancer

Antonio González-Martín, MD, University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain, comments on the potential of TUB-040, a new antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) targeting NaPi2b, in ovarian cancer. The stable linker payload joint allows for efficient delivery of the drug to the tumor, enabling effective treatment at relatively low doses. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2025 Congress in Berlin, Germany.

So I think that this is an ADC that will play for sure a role in the scene for many reasons. First, because it is targeting NaPi2b, which is a highly expressed protein across all ovarian cancer. Second, because the safety profile that we have demonstrated is really, really good. Nothing to see with other ADCs targeting NaPi2b in the past. I think that this stable linker payload joint is what makes the difference in this ADC that allow the delivery of almost all the drug to the tumor and that’s why we can use relatively dose or we have seen good responses with even relatively low dose of this asset and definitively the activity that we have seen is really clear...

One of them was a complete response. Most of the patients are still in treatment. So I think that we have a new ADC for our patients.
