ELCC 2022 | Artificial intelligence for lung cancer screening and nodule detection

Matthijs Oudkerk, MD, PhD, University of Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands, reviews the use of artificial intelligence for lung cancer screening and nodule detection. Implementation of screening allows for earlier detection of lung cancers in an increasing number of high-risk individuals, however CT-scan reading is becoming an increasing burden for radiologists, which calls attention to the potential of AI systems in nodule detection. This interview took place during the virtual European Lung Cancer Congress 2022.
