WCLC 2023 | Increasing lung cancer screening rates in Africa

Lauren Pretorius, Campaigning for Cancer, Randburg, South Africa, discusses the current strategies to increase lung cancer screening rates in Africa. Whilst South Africa has strict laws pertaining to smoking and tobacco, other African countries have failed to impose similar policies. Ms Pretorius reports that one of main priorities is to examine the cost-effectiveness and budget for lung cancer screening, and artificial intelligence has become a strategy of interest. This interview took place at the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Singapore, Singapore.
