ASCO 2024 | Evaluating the role of fruquintinib in patients with refractory mCRC

Cathy Eng, MD, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, Nashville, TN, discusses the impact of the approval of fruquintinib, a VEGF inhibitor, in patients with refractory metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Findings from the FRESCO (NCT02314819) and FRESCO-2 (NCT04322539) trials, which assessed fruquintinib in patients from China and the rest of the world respectively. In the FRESCO-2 trial, patients who have progressed on trifluridine–tipiracil or regorafenib were recruited, and the primary endpoint of overall survival was met. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
