ASCO 2024 | Exploring the potential of fruquintinib in earlier treatment settings

Cathy Eng, MD, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, Nashville, TN, discusses the potential for moving fruquintinib into earlier treatment settings. As an oral agent, fruquintinib offers advantages for combination therapies. There is significant interest in combining it with agents such as capecitabine for maintenance therapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors. Small Phase II studies (ChiCTR2200059280) in China have shown promising results, and further large-scale studies in the United States and other countries are anticipated to validate these findings. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
