Gaia Griguolo, MD, University of Padova, Padova, Italy, provides updates on treating brain metastases in patients with breast cancer. Patients with HER2-positive breast cancer have promising options, as evidenced in the HER2CLIMB trial (NCT02614794), which assessed the addition of tucatinib to trastuzumab and capecitabine, as well as other trials assessing trastuzumab deruxtecan. Additional trials are also showing encouraging intercranial efficacy in the HER2-negative setting. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
