ESMO GI 2024 | The future of immunotherapies in treating GI cancer

Kohei Shitara, MD, National Cancer Center Hospital East, Kashiwa, Japan, discusses the future of claudin-18.2 targeted CAR-T cell therapies in patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, which show promising overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) rates. Tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapies have also demonstrated effectiveness in treating solid tumors, including GI cancers. However, there is an emphasis on carrying out further research on these therapies.
