ESMO GI 2024 | Benefits of using stereotactic body radiation therapy for colon cancer

Laura Dawson, MD, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada, discusses randomized studies on using stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for patients with colon cancer and multiple lesions. Advances in SBRT delivery are highlighted, including improved precision and dose adjustment, as well as the opportunity to use sensitizers. Additionally, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)-based imaging can help to enhance treatment effectiveness. This interview took place at 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancer Annual Congress in Munich, Germany.
