Giuseppe Viale, MD, FRCPath, University of Milan, Milan, Italy, discusses updated findings from the Phase III DESTINY-Breast06 trial (NCT04494425) of trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) in patients with HR+, HER2-low, or HER2-ultralow metastatic breast cancer (mBC), who had previously received endocrine therapy but no chemotherapy. T-DXd significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) compared to treatment of physician’s choice (TPC), with consistent benefits across HER2-low and HER2-ultralow subgroups. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
