WCLC 2024 | Real-world racial disparities in treating EGFR-m NSCLC with osimertinib

Matthew Lee, MD, Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bronx, NY, discusses findings from a real-world, retrospective study analyzing the impact of race, adherence, and socioeconomic factors on clinical outcomes in patients with EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with osimertinib. The study revealed no significant differences in adherence between racial/ethnic groups, but non-Hispanic Black patients exhibited worse overall survival (OS) compared to non-Hispanic Whites, despite similar treatment adherence. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
