WCLC 2024 | Is perioperative therapy the best strategy for early stage lung cancer?

Jan von der Thüsen, MD, PhD, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, Netherlands, discusses the benefits of perioperative therapy over adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapy for early stage lung cancer. Rates of recurrence in patients are high after surgery, and the KEYNOTE-671 (NCT03425643) has demonstrated the benefits of perioperative therapy in this setting. However, neoadjuvant therapy has shown to contribute to survival, where immunotherapy can mount a strong immune response. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
