ESMO 2024 | ARCADIA: future directions in treating variant histology tumors

Patrizia Giannatempo, MD, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy, discusses the interim analysis of the ARCADIA Phase II trial (NCT03824691), which explores the combination of durvalumab and cabozantinib in patients with variant histology tumors. While the analysis has completed for the entire population, the next step involves validating these findings in a Phase III randomized trial. However, the absence of a standard of care for pure variant histology presents a challenge in determining a comparative arm for future studies. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
