ESMO 2024 | Balancing the efficacy and safety of first-line T-DXd-based combinations in GEJA

Yelena Janjigian, MD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, comments on the role of trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) in patients with esophageal, gastric, or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (GEJA). Starting off with lower doses is important in the first-line setting, especially when the duration of treatment for T-DXd with capecitabine and immunotherapy is long. Clinicians should additionally closely monitor and report any adverse events in patients. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
