Vernon Sondak, MD, Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL, discusses the unique challenges of managing pediatric melanoma, including the use of molecular testing to guide diagnosis and treatment. Although the MERLIN_001 trial (NCT04759781) applies only to adults, similar gene expression profiling principles are helping distinguish high- and low-risk pediatric cases. This interview took place at the 21st International Congress of the Society for Melanoma Research (SMR) in New Orleans, LA.
