Alex De Caluwe, MD, Jules Bordet Institute, Brussels, Belgium, comments on how the Neo-CheckRay trial (NCT03875573) is the first trial to test a novel combination of radiotherapy and immunotherapy for breast cancer, focusing on luminal B subtypes. The study aligns with the ongoing P-RAD trial (NCT04443348), which uses a similar approach in both triple-negative and luminal B breast cancer. The combined findings of these trials may reveal new insights into immunotherapy response in traditionally immune-cold breast cancers. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
