SABCS 2024 | Recommendations for physicians on personalized HER2+ breast cancer treatment

Jangsoon Lee, PhD, University of Hawai’i Cancer Center, Honolulu, HI, talks about the key factors related to selecting patients for HER2+ breast cancer treatment with antibody-drug conjugates (ADC). HER2 expression levels, which are linked to ADC-resistance, can be diagnosed with methods beyond FISH (fluorescent in situ hybridization) and immunohistochemistry, and the addition of genetic profiling in clinical decisions regarding monotherapy or combination therapy can provide more personalized treatments for patients. This interview took place at 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
