ASCO GI 2025 | TCTP: a potential biomarker and therapeutic target in gastric cancer

Hyung-Don Kim, MD, PhD, Asan Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea, asserts the need for precise biomarkers for predicting immunotherapy response. Translationally controlled tumor protein (TCTP) may help address this, providing a more reliable way to stratify patients based on survival outcomes. Ongoing efforts are focused on developing therapeutics targeting TCTP to enhance treatment effectiveness. Given the finding of the study, TCTP-targeted approaches could hold significant potential for improving survival outcomes in gastric cancer patients. This interview took place at the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
