GU Cancers 2025 | RAD-IO: assessing the feasibility of durvalumab with CRT in bladder cancer

Nicholas James, MBBS, PhD, FRCP, FRCR, Institute of Cancer Research, London, UK, discusses the RAD-IO trial (ISRCTN: 43698103), which investigates the addition of durvalumab to standard chemoradiotherapy (CRT) for bladder cancer. Findings suggest that the treatment schedule, including neo-adjuvant, synchronous, and adjuvant durvalumab, was deliverable with full-dose CRT. Most participants completed treatment as planned, with minimal toxicity-related interruptions. Recruitment continues in the single-arm efficacy phase, with further results anticipated. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
