GU Cancers 2025 | Addressing the declining use of bone-modifying agents for mCRPC in the clinic

Umang Swami, MD, MS, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, explores real-world usage in bone-modifying agent (BMA) use in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) using data from the Flatiron Health database. Findings show that despite guideline recommendations, BMA use remains low and has declined over the past decade. Significant disparities exist based on race, practice type, and insurance status, emphasizing the need to improve BMA utilization and access in clinical practice. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
