GU Cancers 2025 | RE-ARM: radiotherapy as an immune-priming strategy in bladder cancer

The Phase II RE-ARM trial (ISRCTN12606219) examined whether radiotherapy could enhance immune responses in patients with metastatic bladder cancer receiving immunotherapy. Robert Huddart, PhD, FRCR, MBBS, MRCP, The Institute of Cancer Research, London, UK, chronicles the challenging recruitment process which lead to a small patient cohort and no clear responses. The study highlights the difficulty of treating patients progressing on immunotherapy, as they often require early intervention. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
