Merrick Ross, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, comments on the potential of oncolytic therapy to transform refractory tumors into immunologically hot tumors, which could then be responsive to immunotherapy. Dr Ross suggests that oncolytic therapy could be used upfront to convert cold tumors into hot tumors, making them sensitive to immunotherapy. This approach could be a promising strategy for patients who are refractory to single-agent or combination immunotherapy. This interview took place at the PRIMO 2025 congress in Honolulu, HI.
