Soufyan Annakib, MD, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nîmes, Nîmes, France, discusses a prospective multicenter study investigating the gut microbiome as a potential biomarker for pembrolizumab efficacy in advanced urothelial carcinoma (UC). Fecal metaproteome analysis revealed differences in taxonomic and functional composition between responders and non-responders. Specific bacterial genera, such as Sutterella were also associated with treatment response. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
