GU Cancers 2025 | The potential role of live bacterial therapies in renal cell carcinoma

Hedyeh Ebrahimi, MD, MPH, City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, Duarte, CA, comments on the emerging role of live bacterial products in renal cell carcinoma (RCC). A Phase I trial (NCT05122546) of CBM588 is underway, aiming to escalate dosing, with the goal of a future Phase III trial to determine the efficacy of modulating the gut microbiome in patients with RCC. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
