Gillian Vandekerkhove, PhD, Vancouver Prostate Centre, Vancouver, Canada, discusses the applications of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) in guiding the treatment of urothelial carcinoma. Urine tumour DNA and ctDNA can inform on fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) status to allow systemic guidance of erdafitinib. Whilst molecular biomarker programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) does not inform on protein expression, combining it with ctDNA can inform on tumour biology and the tumour microenvironment (TME) response to immunotherapies. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
