Philip Poortmans, MD, PhD, University of Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium, describes the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) guide more tailored radiotherapy decisions in breast cancer. Following on Lucerne Toolbox 2, which aims optimize axillary management, Toolbox 3 will attempt to incorporate AI to enhance prognostic and predictive outcomes, enabling better patient selection and personalized treatment planning. AI can also aid in defining precise target volumes and optimizing dose distribution, ultimately improving treatment efficacy.
