Kohei Shitara, MD, National Cancer Center Hospital East, Kashiwa, Japan, discusses the Phase II/III ASPEN-06 trial (NCT05002127) of evorpacept in combination with paclitaxel, ramucirumab, and trastuzumab (Evo-TRP) in previously treated human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive gastric and gastroesophageal cancer. Evorpacept, a CD47-blocking agent, enhances antibody-mediated defence and phagocytosis, particularly with monoclonal antibodies like trastuzumab. In Phase II, Evo-TRP showed a higher objective response rate and favorable trends in progression-free survival. This interview took place at the ASCO GI Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
