AACR 2025 | AGADIR: atezolizumab, EIK1001 & radiotherapy in virus-associated tumors

Antoine Italiano, MD, PhD, Institute Bergonié, Bordeaux, France, discusses the Phase II AGADIR trial (NCT03915678) assessing atezolizumab, EIK1001 (a TLR7/8 agonist), and stereotactic radiotherapy in patients with metastatic virus-associated tumors, primarily HPV-related. The regimen achieved disease control at 24 weeks, with signs of systemic immune activation and tumor microenvironment reprogramming. Biomarker data indicated enhanced T-cell infiltration and immune effector activity, supporting the immunologic rationale of this multimodal approach. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2025 in Chicago, IL.
