Ludovica Cella, MD, Humanitas University, Milan, Italy, shares findings from a prospective study evaluating the impact of robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP) on quality of life (QoL) and mental health in patients with localized prostate cancer. The study assessed patients pre- and post-operatively using validated questionnaires to track changes in mood and overall wellbeing. While a general decline in quality of life was observed post-surgery, age-stratified analysis revealed that older patients were more significantly affected. These results highlight the need for integrated physical and psychological support, particularly in elderly populations undergoing RALP. This interview took place at the 2025 European Association of Urology (EAU) Congress in Madrid, Spain.
