ASCO 2025 | DREAMseq: 5-year follow up of first-line dual IO in BRAFV600-m melanoma

Omid Hamid, MD, The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute, Los Angeles, CA, reviews the latest results from the Phase III DREAMseq trial (NCT02224781), which evaluated first-line treatment with nivolumab plus ipilimumab versus dabrafenib plus trametinib in patients with previously untreated BRAFV600-mutant metastatic melanoma. After nearly five years of follow-up, dual immunotherapy (IO) continued to show a lasting overall survival benefit. While response rates were comparable between groups, the durability of response and progression-free survival were superior with the nivolumab and ipilimumab regimen. This interview took place during the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
