ESMO GI 2025 | Reflex molecular testing study aims to improve colorectal cancer treatment timing

Wing Kin Liu, PhD, Guy’s and St Thomas’​ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, outlines an ongoing pilot study in South East London hospitals comparing reflex molecular testing with standard care for colorectal cancer patients, with the aim of having molecular results available for the first multidisciplinary team meeting and oncology appointments, enabling patients to receive optimal targeted therapy from their first treatment cycle based on actionable mutations. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancer 2025 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
