ASCO GI 2026 | Phase II ILUSTRO: 1L zolbetuximab + mFOLFOX6 + nivolumab in CLDN18.2+ mG/GEJ cancer

Kohei Shitara, MD, National Cancer Center Hospital East, Kashiwa, Japan, discusses findings from the Phase II ILUSTRO trial (NCT03505320) of first-line (1L) zolbetuximab plus mFOLFOX6 and nivolumab in patients with CLDN18.2+ locally advanced unresectable or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction (mG/GEJ) adenocarcinoma. The combination showed promising results in patients with CLDN18.2+ patients, and the treatment regimen showed similar safety profiles of those seen with the combination of zolbetuxumab and chemotherapy. This interview took place at the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium in San Francisco, CA.
