ASCO 2026 | DESTINY-Gastric04: HRQoL with T-DXd in HER2-positive gastric/GEJ cancer

Kohei Shitara, MD, National Cancer Center Hospital East, Kashiwa, Japan, discusses health-related quality of life (HRQoL) analyses from DESTINY-Gastric04 (NCT04704934), evaluating trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) versus ramucirumab plus paclitaxel in HER2-positive unresectable/metastatic gastric cancer or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma. Results indicate HRQoL was maintained with trastuzumab deruxtecan, with stable patient-reported functioning and symptoms across quality of life subscales, and time to deterioration not negatively impacted compared to the control arm. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
