Shankar Siva, PhD, MBBS, FRANZCR, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Hospital Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia, explores the historic belief that renal cell carcinoma is radioresistant, exploring how the FASTRACK II results challenge this. Prof. Siva highlights the improved targeting precision of modern radiotherapy with stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy (SABR), which allows delivery of high doses to the target organ whilst sparing surrounding tissue. This interview took place at the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology 2026 Congress in Stockholm, Sweden.
