Kohei Shitara, MD, National Cancer Center Hospital East, Kashiwa, Japan, explores health-related quality of life (HRQoL) outcomes from the Phase III HERIZON-GEA-01 trial (NCT05152147), comparing zanidatamab plus chemotherapy with or without tislelizumab against trastuzumab plus chemotherapy as first-line treatment for HER2-positive advanced gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma (mGEA). Physical functioning and global health status scores remained broadly similar across arms, with only small, clinically insignificant differences favoring the control arm. These findings suggest zanidatamab-containing regimens preserve quality of life while providing meaningful survival benefits, supporting their use in this first-line setting. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancer 2026 Congress in Munich, Germany.
