Academic History
Eva Compérat, MD, PhD, is currently Professor of Urologic Pathology at the Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria and the heads the Department of Pathology at the Hôpital Tenon, Sorbonne University in Paris, France. She completed her PhD at University Hospitals Pitié Salpêtrière, Paris France, and was previously Assistant Professor at Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France.
Speaking on the molecular profiling of genitourinary cancers
Prof. Compérat’s research focuses on the pathological and molecular characterization of urological cancers, particularly bladder, prostate, kidney, and testicular tumors. Her work aims to improve the accuracy of diagnosis, prognostic risk stratification, and treatment selection through the integration of histopathology with molecular biomarkers and emerging pathological classifications. She has made significant contributions to international consensus guidelines, including the WHO Classification of Urinary and Male Genital Tumours, and is actively involved in research exploring the pathological correlates of response to systemic therapies, as well as the implementation of precision medicine in genitourinary oncology.
